About
With the rapid development of information technology and the integration of media industry and Internet technology, the speed of news and information dissemination is getting faster and faster, and the scope of dissemination is getting wider and wider. This makes the local small and medium-sized newspapers suffer impact, facing transformation and upgrading. Small newsrooms across the country are shutting down because of the coronavirus. These smaller newsrooms are also actively looking for ways to make a difference by partnering with local publications, but this "merging" has led to the disappearance of community-focused reporting. This will reduce community transparency, and studies show that tax increases will reduce voter turnout. Therefore, I hope that through the transformation of successful enterprises, how to use digital innovation help local small and medium newspapers to expand business scale and scope of application of digital innovation, so as to improve the market share of the enterprise, create more added value, fill the blank of community news, and the construction of the digital platform will also promote the local reporters rising employment.
The purpose of this stage is to collect the current situation of the newspaper industry and investigate the ideas of potential users. This phase reveals that the user wants to read multiple different categories of newspapers. This is important for the second phase of the hmw problem, which is the discovery phase of the dual diamond model of service design.
The purpose of this stage is to summarize the research content of the first stage to get the hmw problem, study the digital newspaper enterprises with successful transformation, and think and try to solve this problem. This phase reveals why traditional local newspapers and small publishing houses have failed to make the digital transition. This is important for the development of the phase 3 application.
The purpose of this phase is to complete the design of the digital application and build the business model. At this stage, I conducted potential user testing, which helped me find problems with the interaction prototype. This is important for the improvement and future development of the application.
